At the community level SEFE’s major contribution comes in the company role as a source of investment and employment.
In everyday employment terms the SEFE operation underpins the direct employment of around 400 persons, including direct SEFE employees, logging and haulage, forest management and maintenance workers. This employment involves annual incomes estimated at $21,000,000. There are also significant employment factors attaching to others in indirect employment positions.
Nearly all of the above employment is full time and most is located in the region between Nowra and Bairnsdale. Many small rural communities are involved with the timber industry and its supply chain.
SEFE interacts on a daily basis with many different parts of the community and it is appropriate that the company supports community effort and activities in many ways.
On an annual basis SEFE is providing around $40,000 in direct funding to local events such as district shows, cultural and sporting events, schools and a range of fund raising activities.
SEFE has been and remains very much a part of the Eden community.
